Rockrose's The Hayden Readies for Leasing Launch - NOW OPEN

Rockrose’s The Hayden had a very short-lived title as the to-be tallest residential building in Long Island City. The tower, situated at 43-25 Hunter Street, topped out in May at 50 stories and 535 feet, and by then three other buildings were planned to surpass its height: Rockrose’s 598-foot-tall rental tower at 43-22 Queens Street, Property Market Group’s 772-foot-tall condominium tower at 29-37 41st Avenue, and United Construction & Development’s 964-foot-tall building at 22-15 44th Drive.

The Hayden, however, remains impressive with its eye-catching base and angled tower with asymmetrical balconies. Carter Horsley has dubbed the tower "no cookie-cutter development," stating that "this large rental apartment project looks like it has conquered the blender with its strong mix of façade patterns and building massing at the convenient heart of Long Island City." The SLCE-designed building is now readying for a leasing launch for its 924 apartments, 195 of which have been designated as affordable. The breakdown will consist of 348 studios, 459 one-bedroom units, and 167 two-bedroom units.

Amenities will abound both indoors and outdoors at the Hayden. The building will feature a fitness center, a basketball court, a billiard room, a yoga studio, a screening room, a library, and a children’s playroom. Residents will also have access to a gorgeous rooftop solarium, a Zen garden, and a great lawn, all perfect places to relax and entertain outdoors. Completion for the Hayden has been slated for 2017.
