Tipster Mostly Sweet on New Williamsburg Loft Rentals

April 7,2011 | By ny curbed

Williamsburg candy factory turned luxury rental building 390 Wythe Avenue, now known as the Wythe Confectionery, recently hit the market with an emphasis on old-meets-new. The old being the preserved elements (brick, beams) in these lofts, and the new being amenities like a gym, roof deck, indoor parking and residents' lounge. So how is the Williamsburg house-hunting crowd reacting to the building, where prices start at $1,900 per month for a 450-square-foot studio next to the Williamsburg Bridge? One Curbed tipster filed this report after a recent visit:

It is still very much under construction, but the bones of several of the apartments are finished so you have a good sense of what things are going to look like. The developer originally planned for condos, so they spent a lot of money on the first five floors to strip out the original beam and brick work, which looks really great.
